BIO

Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, John moved to South Florida in 1989 and began developing his diverse musical abilities through many fantastic opportunities. He has performed and recorded with great artists from every musical genre, from Jazz to Rock, Latin to Reggae.

John has toured the world with multi-platinum selling artists, such as Julio Iglesias, Engelbert Humperdinck, KC and The Sunshine Band, David Lee Roth, and Raul DiBlasio. Touring with such artists has allowed John to perform at the World's most prestigious performance venues, such as the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, The Palladium in London, Madison Square Garden, Wembley Arena, The Kremlin, and The Kennedy Center. On television, John has appeared on The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, The Donnie and Marie Show, and VH1 Behind The Music.  John has also performed with the opening acts for James Brown, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams, and Jay Leno.

Jazz artists with whom John has been featured include Nat Adderley, Hiram Bullock (guitarist with Miles Davis, David Sanborn, and The Brecker Bros.), vocalist Rosanna Vitro, and Latin Jazz Percussionist, Sammy Figueroa. John has appeared on stage with Joshua Redman and his quartet, as well as with Victor Wooten, the Bassist with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. He has performed at many renowned Jazz clubs, such as The Blue Note and The Jazz Standard in New York City, Arturo Sandoval's Jazz Club in Miami, and Skuller's in Boston.  Throughout South Florida, John regularly performs at the top local venues, such as Jazziz Club and Bistro, the VanDyke Jazz Club, Ohara's and others, as well as at the most prestigious Luxury hotels, such as The Breakers, The Ritz-Carlton, The Four Seasons, The Mandarin Oriental, and the Boca Raton Resort and Club.

Along with many other great recording projects he has been involved with, John was also an integral part of "...and Sammy Walked In", which was Sammy Figueroa's debut recording that was nominated for a GRAMMY AWARD in 2006, for "Latin Jazz Album of the Year." Sammy's latest CD, "The Magician" also features John, along side a group of international talent, all of whom are accomplished artists.

John is currently working on composing music for his own debut release, which not only will reflect his own diverse musical experiences, but also the current styles of music that he has observed on the international scene. John is continually experimenting with ways to combine the sounds of the organic percussion of India, Africa, the Caribbean Islands and Central and South America with the melodic/harmonic elements from SouthEast Asia and the Middle East, as well as the passion expressed in music from the Mediterranean and Latin American countries. John is also working on original music for Sammy Figueroa's next project.
